joomlacode.org and public email address?

Don't know if this is right place to ask this, but I hope somebody will know the answer.

Here at joomlacode.org/gf/user/someusername/ is publicly viewable an email address. Is there a way to hide this email address from viewing it publicly without login first?

hi there,

i really doubt that just by appending url in your browser you will be able to retrieve a forum user email address unless he made it publicly viewable. you may want to check it with joomlacode.org admin, though.

The thing is that i checked admin panel but i don't see anywhere an option to hide email address from being viewable publicly. I don't mind at all if registered users can see it, but i do mind if search engines can see it.

hmm... sorry for being skeptical in my post above.

it seems there is indeed a publicly searchable and viewable Users section with joomlaCode.org including email addresses (albeit obfuscated ones)

i wonder why they've set their system this way?
