Joomlacode feature suggestions

This is primarily to encourage people to help out on getting 1.6 released, but other projects might enjoy it as well:

1) Enable git repositories and move Joomla to Git. For core developers, add the "check in on behalf of" functions so that code patches are properly attributed in the commit log to the authors.

2) Allow people to create groups and self-align themselves with groups.

3) Create stat generation programs that can take into account groups. So, for example, instead of the generic X bugs fixed thanks to the Joomla bug squad, we can view daily snapshots along the lines of:

X bugs reported by the Joomla! Noob's Team
Y bugs reported by the Joomla! NYC User Group Team
Z bugs reported by the Masters of Joomla! Team
... same deal for confirmed bug stats, patches submitted, and patches verified[including who verified the patch and who submitted the patch].

Then people can have friendly little competitions for different categories without having to sift data manually.

This discussion is probably better suited for the developer list. http://groups.google.com/group/joomla-dev-general

Not so sure, you need to have the features supported on Joomlacode itself before any projects, including Joomla! itself could use it. :-)

True. I pointed you to the mailing list, since the developers normally read that and things like versioning software changes have to be discussed first.
