joomla 1.5 beta2 ... system info

good morning there joomies from Hamburg ! 

i installed fresh the joomla 1.5 beta2.

i figured out.... that in the backend when go "system info" => Directory Permissions

the Permission of the directory  /administrator/language  is not checked.
i wondered why the try of installing language file "de-DE.admin.joomla15.svn.zip"
dont worked. i got error all time.
then i changed permission of the directory and voila , all fine

maybe u can implement the check of  " /administrator/language"
this will help all language freaks

I'd be glad if I COULD install it. Keep getting the same error messages running it on JSAS 1.10 on an XP SP2 machine.

Plain Jane 1.5 beta is ruuning just fine. Beta 2 is a no-go.

Just installed 1.5 beta 2 and it went smoothly until I tried to access the site or the admin. Front end was blank page, admin threw up these errors after the login screen:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: onauthenticate() in /home/myname/public_html/joomla15beta/libraries/joomla/user/authentication.php on line 121

good morning!

i tried to update the "old 1.5 Beta" but without any success. Then i tried a new installation also without any success. The routine of the installationporcess was ok and I also could log in the admin-panel, but after "Preview Site", my apache always crashed with a blank site (only header-info and a emty body-tag)    I didn't try 1.5 with linux until now, so i cant say anything to that.

1.5 beta is ruuning fine. The Beta 2 is a no-go!

System-Info:
Apache/2.0.53 (Win32) PHP/5.0.3
Database Version:  4.1.10

Something else i figured out: "Joomla! 1.5.0 Beta 2 [ Khepri ] 04-Oct-2007 00:00 GMT"

guys,
your warnings could result from directorys with wrong permissions...
check all dirs where you  get this errors.
what version of mysql ? right version  php-mysql ? and so on......
install was a 2 min go here, only the rights of directories was cause for errors here......

You can try to fill in your FTP login data at the installer page. Then it should work without changing permissions.

maybe u can implement the check of  " /administrator/language"
this will help all language freaks

Should probably be checked when installing language packs, i.e. "Error: Could not write to directory administrator/language/" or something like that...

my ftp on system is SSL / TLS

i cant find any options for that in settings............
otheriwse ftp rejects connections

Nothing wrong on my winxp clean install.

Not so fast! My bad is that I did read your post not too well. :-*
So, the answer to yr question is: no I did not use ftp/ssl/tsl.
