MySQL Real Escape String Error / Not Valid Link Resource

I am using a Joomla 1.5 Beta 2 release I downloaded approximately two weeks ago. I was impressed.

I don't recall making any changes to the database or files. I didn't even add any components. But, I recently checked out the page to take a look at a few things and noticed the front page gave this error.

Since there are nightly builds, I assume updates may have fixed this issue, if in fact it is not an error I inadvertently made, but I also figured that it may be worth mention, since we are trying to create a solid framework of Joomla 1.5.

Code: Select all

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string(): 46 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/.../JOOMLA_1-5/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 169

Thanks. This error may have come about from a mix up between a Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.5 test platform, which would mean this ought to be ignored. Thanks.

Fidel -

I wonder if you should reinstall? I think once in awhile during beta testing, we have been advised to get rid of the configuration file and go back through the installation process. I think to fix this very problem. (I think.)

Backup your database, first, of course, if you have data you don't want to lose. You should be able to reinstall *and* keep the database. Try that, anyway, and see if that fixes your problem.

Thanks for helping test!
Amy :)
