Template Error:Direct Access to this location is not allowed

I am using Joomla 1.015.

I was attempting to create a template from scratch. When I uploaded it and set it to default all i get is this: "Direct Access to this location is not allowed."

To make things worse I now get the same message no matter what template I set as default. I deleted the one I made and uploaded a new template and still the same thing. So as of now I can't view my site.

Does anyone now what I could have done to cause this and how I can fix it?

I figured it out, it was a simple mistake. For anyone who might make the same mistake, I accidentally uploaded my template index.php to the root of my joomla installation (dreamweaver ftp always gets me). To fix it I just re-uploaded the original index.php.

Thank you so much! I have been going nuts all day trying to figure out why my changed template wouldnt work and then I reuploaded the original one with the same problem. I checked my root directory after reading your post and... yup.... i had done the same thing! replaced with original root index.php file and it is all fixed...

thank you thank you thank you :)
