Javascript Errors: xxx() is not a function

Post by bramn » Wed Jul 18, 2007 11:05 am

Using the latest nightly-build I'm experiencing several Javascript errors trying to select an image for inclusion in an article or trying to select an article for a menu-item.

Editing an article -> Using 'Editor Button - Image' -> Select an image -> Nothing happens:
Javascript error: this.uploadtoggler.addEvent is not a function

Adding or editing a menu-item -> Select Article -> No (?) Lightbox popup -> Selecting an article -> Nothing happens:
Javascript error: window.parent.jSelectArticle is not a function

Implicitly this means backend ofcourse, what else?! ;-)
I tested it in Firefox & Safari on OSX and Internet Explorer 6 for XP. The Javascript error was recovered using the Firebug extension for Firefox. My guess is though, that if Firefox can't find the appropiate function, no browser can. My guess is some sort of Javascript file is not included.

This maybe relevant to that image selection?

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,191748.0.html

Latest svn is 8042, and with that I got image inserting working. HOWEVER, with ie7 layout is broken. But funktionality is ok.

Second issue, I had also few svn's away problems with select article popup, but with todays svn it has worked again.

articles can be edited also from frontend, thats why I was not sure.

I tested:. svn8042, ie7 and ff1.5

Hmmm first issue looks the same indeed. Second issue still remains, I'm using the latest nightly build (downloaded july 18th @ 11:00AM CET , don't know the exact number (where can I find it?).

If you are using any svn tool (tortoise), then from its log. If you are not using svn to get latest build, then it is too old anyway.

In windows, if you have tortoise svn, just right click svn folder, and select Tortoise Svn -> show log. Revision is the number we are talking about when writing svn XXXX.

Euhm, "too old anyway", so a nightly build, which is zipped at night is too old already when downloaded a couple of hours later?! :o
Wow, that's freaking fast. If bugs are fixed that fast too, I'll just try to update again tomorrow morning and see what happens :)

Svn log: (might need to register)

http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... F&view=log

So last nights build is now very very old.

Thanks to developers, very fast bugfixing.

Wow, I updated my Joomla installation using SVN and the above bugs  (and probably more) were fixed. Great work! Too bad though, I had to go through all the hazzle, installing SVN client and such, but still, nice! :-)
