[SOLVED] 500 Database connection error

Post by Frank_R » Wed Dec 01, 2010 4:23 pm

I'm new here so I say HELLO to everybody!

My question:
I have a fresh Joomla installtion with Joomfish and an other 3rd party component to display content from non joomla database called Table JX (http://www.toolsjx.com/).

Since I installed the Joomfish component the is a 500 error at the end of every page (500 - No valid database connection:).

Is there anybody who can help with this issue? In the worst case it would be ok to suppress the error message allthough this is not a proper solution...

Will be thakfull for every help!
THX a lot
Frank

Ok, I did a new Joomla Insall and installed the components the other way arround.
First Joomfish --> no 500 error --> second Table JX --> again 500 error...

This MAY be an indication that the problem comes with the Table JX component... ???
Finally i went out of ideas how to get rid of this error message...

Problem solved by installing an older version of Joomfish (Joomfish 2.0.4)
The new version (2.1.5) seems to have a bug in the sql statement: http://www.joomfish.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=7325

Hope this can help others maybe! ;) CU later!

I have the same problem with hwdvideoshare installed with joomfish

Could you please tell me where can I get an older version and how to downgrade?

Best regards

Hi,

switching to "mysqli" should solve the problem but for some hostings it is not available, then indeed, it would require to downgrade to an older joomfish version (for now).

I stumbled upon this while giving support for breezingforms and wondered why this happens from out of nowhere.

Regards,
Markus

Wondering why this is listed as solved? I don't have access to mysqli and downgrading your version of joomfish doesn't strike me as solved... if I was a dev for joomfish I would be looking at an actual bugfix before calling this solved.
