My SMTP error!

My SMTP error!

Hi guy! Need your help :-[

I used Joomla for the above site & need some help. When customers try & register on the site the following error message appears.

SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host.
SMTP Error! Could not connect to SMTP host.

Is this a new installation of Joomla or did this error start all of a sudden?

Are you using the SMTP server provided to you by your host? If you do not have the configuration details from your host, you need to talk to the support team of your host.

If you create email accounts within your hosting (such as [email protected] in cPanel) then it will have the configuration details you need. If it's a third party email (like Gmail), then you need to contact Google, or check your Gmail account for such information.

However it might be easier to simply use the sendmail or phpmail options that are also available and not use SMTP at all.
