Joomla 1.5.22 site writing hundreds of cache files Topic is solved

I have a site built by Joomla 1.5.22 and keeps writing lots of files in cache especially in folders
com_content
mod_mainmenu
com_contact

when writing lots of cash the website menu and pages get corrupted and the template stops appearing as it should be.

when I clear the cash and purge expired cash the website returns back to but to its original view but for only a few minutes and then some menu items stop responding, and pages get corrupted again.

how do I stop this from happening

Update to the latest version of Joomla! It's strange that your website hasn't been hacked yet. You are a real lucky person.

I am afraid if I update it to Joomla 3, the template will be corrupted and so the other plugins and modules

Yes, you must check if there are any updates for templates and plugins. Joomla 1.5 is, however, very flawed. It is also not supported for a long time.

You even missed the update to 1.5.26.

I am not a Joomla Master and on my own, so how do i do the update

For 1.5: Unzip the package and upload to your site overwriting all files.
