Highest PHP version J 1.5.26 supports?

Highest PHP version J 1.5.26 supports?

I hope someone will read this forum :-)

Which is the highest PHP-Version, that 1.5.26 supports?

Background: I want to install a J 3.3.0 version, but in the same hostings package there is a J 1.5.26 still running, using PHP version 5.2.17. The installer of J 3.3.0. requires PHP 5.3.10 ( "Your host needs to use PHP 5.3.10 or higher to run this version of Joomla!").

Can I upgrade the PHP version to 5.3.10? -> Will J 1.5.26 be running fine still?

P.S.: Yes, people will urge me to Upgrade the 1.5.26 to 2.5 or 3.x. That's what it's all about. :) I am not upgrading, I am installing a whole new 3.x. see above :)

1.5.26 will run on php5.3 support was added in 1.5.15
