Try turning off the cache completely within the Joomla config and under Plugins Manager.

Hi

Thank you for the reply. I have checked on th global configuration and caching is disabled and the cache plugin is too but the cache folder still seems to fill up in turn it says there are more visitors to the site than is recordered in my visits log I think this is because the caching isnt expiring.

Is there anything else I should disable to stop it caching?

Thanks

Try clearing out the cache again or delete the cache files manually.

Hi

I have deleted the cache totally and switched it off. I decided to run a site map generator and within seconds the cache filled up again and the site went down. I deleted the cache manually but as quick as I deleted it the quicker it filled up.

I have also noted that some modules I have switched off are still showing up on the site.

Thanks

What sitemap generator are you using? It sounds like there may be a problem with is.
I use Xmap without any problems.

It creates an XML and HTML version of your sitemap automatically.

Go to COMPONENTS > Xmap > Options > Preferences

There you will see the URLs to the sitemaps that the component automatically creates.
