Man, I love the work ya doing Marko. I have to let you know that.  It'll always be appreciated!  As I've seen already what you've done w/ http://www.joomladeveloping.org, I was wondering how WordPress will be styled as a joomla component?  The same goes for b2 if the component is built.

Once again great work dude!

hi!

well, i am now looking for a solution to import the articles from one specific section into the brandnew jd-wp-installation.

there is an import-wizard for the standard mambo- and wordpress-installations, but this does not work with this joomla!-wordpress bridge.

can anybody figure out how to get this script working?

greetings,
asleif

import mambo-/Joomla!-articles into jd-wp (wordpress-bridge)

asleif wrote: there is an import-wizard for the standard mambo- and wordpress-installations, but this does not work with this joomla!-wordpress bridge.
ok, i used a workaround:

1. install wordpress natively using/creating a second database
2. run the import-script as described in the provided readme
3. delete the table "xxx_wp_posts" in your mambo-/joomla!-database (after having the jd-wp-bridge installed, of course) using phpmyadmin for example ("xxx" stands for your table-prefix, e.g. "mos" or "jos"...)
4. rename the table "wp_posts" into "xxx_wp_posts" in your wordpress-database
5. copy it into your mambo-/joomla!-database
6. delete the native wordpress-installation and its database

that's it! ;)
now you can spend hours and days categorizing your old articles in jd-wp-bridge... :P
(in my case: 196 articles...)

I know you are really busy at the moment Marko, but could you please let me know if this project is still on your todo list?  Thanks.

/Edit: I was meaning the bridge to b2evolution project. This thread seemed to end up going in two directions ;)

First off, I appreciate greatly the work done to get WordPress working with Joomla.  Now, I am learning about b2evolution, and my school is highly interested in getting it integrated into the website now because of the multiple user functionality.  So I too am waiting patiently for the b2evolution bridge/component to be released.

Same here... It's the multiblog functionality which makes this so interesting for me...

Hi Marko,

Would you mind giving us a short update whether the b2evo bridge is still on your todo-list?

I would very much like to see it being developed, but could also quite understand - given the great support you are giving re: your other Joomla! projects - that you postpone or even drop it. We would then need to re-evaluate whether WordPress (and potential add-ons) could offer the features we need (i.e.: multi-blogs, multi-language support).

Thanks in advance,
regards,
Marcus

Hey Marko,
Darling, sweetie, honeybunch - any chance of an update on whether a b2evo bridge is still likely to happen?

I'm glad you liked them Marko ;)
Thanks for the update. I'm not trying to put any time pressure on you at all, just wanted reassurance that this was still in the plans.  It is very much appreciated. Thank you.

When you do get to the stage of beta testing, just PM me and I will happily test it for you.

A question about the WP or b2E integrations....  Can EACH USER have his own blog?

b2evolution is designed for multi-user blogging where each user has their own blog.  It is also multilingual, which is a good fit with Joomla as Joomla further develops its language capabilities.  It's for these reasons that I am hoping for a b2evolution bridge or integration.
Wordpress is not a native multi-user blog, but I understand that it can probably be changed so it does run multiple users each with their own blog.  Have to wait and see if anyone comes up with that.

Isn't the term "Multi User" for WordPress MU different than the Multi user term for b2evo? I thought that Wordpress MU was a way to just have Wordpress installed once on your server, but allow many people to have what would appear to be their own site. With there own theme, etc. Or maybe that is what b2evo does too with it's term "Multi User".

I couldn't get the Joomla JD-Wordpress component to install correctly. Has anyone else?

My dream setup:

b2E or wordpress automatically is set up for each user that registers through the joomla front or back end, or through community builder.

Tell me we're close!

Yet another thread I forgot to update my findings on.

It works in both Mambo 4.5.3h and Joomla 1.0.8. Problem was that php 5.1.1 installs with a default setting of Short Tags = OFF, where as with older 4.x it used to be default to ON. Anyways, in keeping with the php.net recommendations of OFF, I just had to do a global search and replace of <? to <?php and then it will install, work, and uninstall just fine.

Though now that I have tried JD-WordPress as part of Joomla and Mambo, I have uninstalled it and am trying to get a comments solution instead so that I can just use Joomla articles (blogs) globally instead of a Wordpress section.

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if the bridge to B2Evo was ever finalized? I'd be more than happy to Beta test it, if so.

Just checking in on its status. This community truly rocks, by the way.

Thanks!
Anton

Any word on b2evolution integration?

If not, does anyone have experience in migrating to jd-wp?
I am thinking i need to convert from b2evo to vanilla wordpress first and then I could migrate it to jd-wp or maybe I could go directly?

Probably would be easiest to just use a bridge for my b2evo blog, so is that still in the works?

Thanks.
