Detecting/Logging IP Address of New Users

Several of my sites are getting hit with spam registrations. Someone registering manually -- not something a captcha would foil. Are there any tools out there that would allow me to capture the IP addresses of new users as they register? I know there are components/plugins out that will allow me to blacklist certain IP ranges; what I'm looking for is a tool to detect those IPs in the first place and tie them to a username.

Your server logs will have EVERY hit of every page on your site. Also there is a plugin for Community Builder which logs the IP's of logged-in users.

That much I know -- but that doesn't tie the IP to the username. And if the spamming user never confirms his registration or logs in after registering, how would that CB plugin help? Does it in any way capture the IP at the point of initial registration -- as opposed to subsequent logins?

Each registration has a timestamp, you can use that to check the log, thereby tying the user to the reg to the IP.

Just see what IP accessed the reg page at or near the timestamp.

That extension can stores informations about all people connected to your site : User id, User name, IP address etc.
