checkboxes in admin panel disappeared!

Post by bournerude » Fri Aug 28, 2009 6:12 am

i downloaded the latest build the other day (Joomla_1.5.14-Stable-Full_Package) and installed it offline in my PC, everything went well except for the checkboxes that were missing when i logged-in to the backend.

i tried viewing with different browsers but i still no checkboxes.

then i thought maybe the problem is in my computer, so i uploaded and installed the same build to my webhost and still the problem persisted.

i have downloaded and installed earlier buildsof joomla 1.5 before but this is the only time i encountered a problem like this.

did i missed anything?

thanks in advance

// add:
ok, i tried running php4 (instead of php5) this time in my pc, reinstalled joomla and the checkboxes are visible again. i guess this might have something to do with php.
my webhost is running php5 so i dont think i could develop this further using php4.
any ideas anyone how to fix this?

It could be that you are trying to use php5.3.0 J!.5.14 is not yet compatible with that. Drop back to php5.2.9 with your localhost and you will be fine.

I have the same problem using php v. 5.6, I need >/=php 5.3 to use the 'cdnforjoomla' plugin to offload my content due to lacking space with my hosting provider.

I found this [1] which fixed the missing checkboxes in the 'article manager', but I'm still missing checkboxes everywhere else.

I opened a ticket with my hosting provider re: this, & they replied by telling me to figure out which php module/option I need to check/enable to provide whatever's needed to get the checkboxes back. I have these options available to enable [2].

Could someone advise as to how to resolve the missing checkbox issue a different way than downgrading php?

Thanks,

-N

I found this [1], that affects just the menu manager & fixes those missing checkboxes.

I still need to get the checkboxes back for category, sections, modules, & plugins.

Is anyone able to look at what the linked-to solutions I've already found, see what they're doing & provide instructions on how to fix what remains?
