Hi,
how can i access the administration panel is the site is not in the primary public_html folder? my joomla site (which someone else made a few years ago) is now used as a members only area, located in a subfolder in the public_html.
I can get to the index, but when I want to access the administration panel it gives me an error.

in the public_html folder is now a new open to everyone site...

I know that normally you do www.domain.com/administrator to get there.
so now i'm trying to use www.domain.com/members/administrator (where members is the name of the subfolder)

any help?

It does not matter whether the site files are in the directory public_html or in a sub-folder below it. The URL to the Administrator back-end is URL-of-your-site/administrator

What are the URLs of your old site and new site so that others can see what is happening?

Check whether the domains are pointing to the correct directories.

edit:

apparentely there was an error in the .htaccess... so we're saved.

thanks for the support anyhow :)
