Disabled Plugins - Cannot login anymore
Hi
I am using joomal 1.5.26 on my website. I was having some issues on my website so to troubleshoot i disabled all plugin to enable them one by one to check which is the faulty one.
Somehow i left the laptop and session expired.
Now i cannot login to admin backend anymore?
what can i do to gain access?

Re: Disabled Plugins - Cannot login anymore
I don't [yet] know the solution to your problem (and I rarely involve myself in dead, obsolete, unsupported software like J! 1.5) but, suppose we resolve this particular issue with your J! 1.5.26 website and suppose we're able to help you login to the backend again: are you going to keep your J! 1.5.26 website or are you going to promise to migrate it to J! 3.7.2?

Re: Disabled Plugins - Cannot login anymore
If you disabled these plugins via the Joomla 1.5 Plugin Manager (as you said you did), you can re-enable them again (even if you cannot login to your Joomla backend) by modifying the rows in the database table _extensions with a tool like phpMyAdmin.
Alternatively (and this may be a better idea), you could restore your website from a backup made before you started having problems. Of course, you do have a backup, don't you?

i want to know what exactly can i modify in the tables to get access to the backend
there were system plugins as well which i disabled and having this issue
is there any way to change the setting of those plugins responsible for login via phpmyadmin to gain access ?

Have you learnt anything from that?oziking wrote:unfortunately i dont have backup
Assuming you have a tool that will interface with your database—phpMyAdmin is a tool—you need to look at the _extensions table; find the column titled enabled (1 = enabled, 0 = disabled)oziking wrote:i want to know what exactly can i modify in the tables to get access to the backend
change "disabled" (i.e. 0) to "enabled" (i.e. 1).oziking wrote:is there any way to change the setting of those plugins responsible for login via phpmyadmin to gain access ?
I see you've been a forum member for the past seven years. It would probably be beneficial to visit this forum more frequently.

The plugin table in Joomla 1.5 was still called _plugins.sozzled wrote:you need to look at the _extensions table

Re: Disabled Plugins - Cannot login anymore
Thanks, @toivo. Like most of us who have moved on from J! 1.5 (years ago), I suspected that the table may be been renamed or amalgamated when Joomla started referring to components, plugins, templates, modules, etc. as extensions. It makes sense that (in J! 1.5) there were separate tables for each of these things. However, as I don't have any J! 1.5 websites remaining any more, I don't remember those peculiarities and I was relying on my imperfect memory.
The plugins that affect login are known collectively as "authentication" plugins. The plugin(s) that @oziking needed to enable would be one (or more) of those.
@oziking: I trust that you will now begin the process of migrating from J! 1.5 to J! 3.7[.2] as soon as possible ... to avoid further problems.
