frontend throwing errors to all pages

I am having trouble with our site not being able to see any pages but the homepage. I get this error if I try to any menu item.

The requested URL /sisterhood/standupgirl-forum.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

any suggestions on what I do to fix this?

Looks like you have turned SEF on in Global Configuration without renaming htaccess.txt to .htaccess

OK, I am new to this so all I have to do is rename the htcaccess.txt to .htcaccess.txt right?

Or do you have exact steps for me to do?

Ah, found it............my .htcaccess file was blank! pasted the code into it a YAY it is working!
