Blank pages in joomla 1.5.26

Post by lu2joomla » Fri Aug 23, 2013 5:03 pm

Hi,

Please Help! I'm rather new to joomla and have my website joomla 1.5.26. After trying to migrate to 2.5, I though all is well but to my shock the next day the Admin back end was still on joomla 1.5.26 and not 2.5.
Now 1.5.26 Global Configuration shows a blank white page, as well as the site loads only a white blank page.

How do I migrate to joomla 2.5 now, is it wise to do so?.
How do I do a fresh install of joomla 1.5.26?
Do I install and extract joomla 1.5.26 and override the existing files?

Thanks for the chelp..... much appreciated.

Hi,
There are two options for you.If you can see the extension manager upload akeeba backup and try to recover all your site content and second option is that you can over write all the existing files. If you do not have much content on your site then i will guide you to move to 2.5

Hi rs3092,

Thanks for your quick reply I appreciate it very much. I forgot to mention earlier that my host tried to restore the site with a back up yesterday but it did not help the same blank pages I mentioned before; Global Configuration and site is still showing blank white pages.

*If I override the existing files how do I do that?
which 1.5.26 do I use full stable or patch pack? what's the steps I should follow please?

Thank you kindly

like if you will override the files then there is a possibility that you will lost your data.I will suggest you to take backup of your database and install a fresh joomla with same db config.Use a stable version
or second solution is that you can just try to over right your configuration.php file

I'm afraid nothing seems to help restore my website... JUpgrade did not work for me, so I followed the instructions to install joomla 2.5 manually but when I get to the part www.mysite.com/installation I get 404 error message plus now admin back end is a blank white page as well.
I'm stuck for now... Anyone with ideas?
this is beyond me :'(
