FastCGI and Joomla folder permissions

Post by Vlad17 » Wed Jun 25, 2014 6:22 pm

Hello,

I'm running CentOS release 6.4 (Final).

After upgrading php from 5.2.17 to 5.3.3 my Joomla folders are displayed as not writable, unless CHMOD 777. Actually I removed 5.2.17 via yum and installed 5.3.3 via yum.

Server API: CGI/FastCGI.
PHP 5.3.3 (cli) (built: Dec 11 2013 03:29:57)
Copyright (c) 1997-2010 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2010 Zend Technologies

I keep the file where I'm writing what I'm doing with the server. But can't see anything relevant.

Please advise,
Thanks

In case anybody faces same problem - I fixed it by adding SuexecUserGroup ftpuser ftpusergroup to the virtual host configuraion and CHOWNing /var/www/cgi-bin to that ftpuser ftpusergroup.
