What do you mean. There is a basic category blog listing available in
early Joomla. Using Joomla 1.0 is extremely dangerous in the
open web. The hackers hit 1.0 pretty hard. I suggest you start working
on the upgrade, then migration, to a current Joomla. There is a wealth
of blog options in the core framework.

i can't make the comments to work.

It's been a awhile since I've used 1.0.

Check in system configuration and enable comments,
also look at access levels on articles to allow
comments from guests, members or whatever
level of user. If it's wide open with no registration
requirements, you'll get bombarded with robot spam.

It's pretty easy to add a patch. The difficult part will
be jumping to 1.5, then to 2.5.
