What would you say is the best photo gallery to use that allows the publisher to easily add photos from the frontend?

I'm trying out the Expose flash photo gallery... looks to be quite a good one...

I will try out the RSgallery for another site, thanks erdsiger... do you have a website link I could check out that you have implemented the RSgallery in or an example site that it has been used in?

Expose is awesome except for one big thing if you care about SEO and that is the fact that your photo descriptions cannot get indexed by search engines as they are all contained within the flash object, no HTML.  For someone like me who has keyword rich photo descriptions, Expose is a no go. I do like the component otherwise though.

I'm trying to decide between RSGallery2 and EasyGallery....  What would you guys say is the better of the two for ease of adding photos, as well as SEO?

This is quite an old thread and some of the extensions are no longer available - any up to date recommendations for a photo gallery that allows user uploads, nested categories and has SEF titles - and looks good as well - would be very welcome

I would suggest Simple Photo Gallery plugin to add photos easily and you will find them easier to upload many number of photos as per your requirement.

I've been using Phoca for a number of years. Wonder what is out there that is worth looking at? I've found Phoca to be lacking in SEO, but that may be my fault.

My requirements

Handle 3-6K pictures
Auto starting slide shows
Picture folder based organization
Easy captioning
Having a collage capability would also be nice
Easy to use

Joomla 1.0 went End of Life in 2009. You should migrate your site to a newer version of Joomla.

I've found Phoca to be lacking in SEO

Hi, Phoca Gallery does not manage SEO or SEF - SEF links are created by menu links in Joomla! so all the SEF settings are based on Joomla! features and SEF is working in Phoca Gallery since the first version.

To clarify, my thousands of pictures in Phoca Gallery do not show up in searches on either Google or Yahoo.
