Internet Radio Broadcast - Joomla & Mac
I've been working with Joomla for about a year now and I'm interested in broadcasting my own internet radio content. I took a look at in the extensions and there looks to be a few good modules etc. for embedded shoutcast broadcasts in your site but I don't think that's an option for me as I recent switched to an iMac from PC and apparently Shoutcast doesn't work with Mac.
I was hoping to get some guidance on what might be recommended in terms of a Joomla module/component to accomplish this and also what would be recommended in terms of Mac software to power it.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Losh

Re: Internet Radio Broadcast - Joomla & Mac
It's an old thread I'm responding to but I'm in the same boat. I want to create an internet radio station - and not one through somebody else's website/service.
What I have:
Thank you for your time!
What I have:
- - Server space with heavy duty bandwidth
- WHM reseller status so I can implement whatever back-end work needed
- Adequate CSS/HTML skills to create a custom Joomla site
- - The best choice for streaming content that can be archived and downloaded (mp3) by users. Icecast? Shoutcast?
- To know whether Joomla is the best choice for the front-end. Some folks recommend Drupal, Wordpress, etc. I'm most familiar with Joomla but I'll consider switching if I have to.
- Explicit tutorials for anything technical/server-side.
Thank you for your time!

Re: Internet Radio Broadcast - Joomla & Mac
Upon further inspection I believe I am looking for the following:
An audio player that I can embed inside a module that can play either live streaming or an archived .mp3, depending on which link a visitor clicks on. For example, a "Listen Live" link and a "Previous Show" link.
I've been searching the web, but have not found a product that explicitly does this. Has anyone accomplished this (or the rough equivalent of this) on their website?
Please help! Thanks!!!

Have you tried the KessefBrasil radio/streaming apps for this? I'm investigating options, too.

Take a look at my site. Used basic SAM Broadcaster components to create my website. radiobijoux.com
