Problem solved
Just go to the phpmyadmin and look for the latest installed plugin,
jos_plugins ->(the plugin) -> edit : published and set this to 0.

Hi, have the same problem - activated a stats plugin and now cannot log on to administrator or anything else :-(.
I read the solution but do not understand it. I used ws_ftp to look at the php file for the plugin I (think) I published but could not change anything from 1 to 0. Sorry, realise it's dumb but no idea what to do! Using version 1.5.3.

Same problem. Locked out of front and back. Went to myPhpAdmin and unpublished stuff, still didn't work. Please help. I'm on a short time line and I'm thinking of scrapping two weeks worth of work.
