Shareable mootools 1.2 template in Joomla 1.5

Post by epsi » Fri Oct 23, 2009 2:02 am

This month I maintain a non profit site iluni.org for free.
I decide to release this template to public.

Hope this useful.
http://iluni.org/index.php/component/ph ... section/4-

Yes... since Joomla 1.5 using moo 1.11,
So this oriclone is rather an experimental template.
But it work nice once you've switch to mootools 1.2.4. See forum.

Sample of altered behavior.php is included in this package.
There are many parameter you can pick from admin menu.

You might also want to take a look at the source
and adapt it to your template,
or use it for learning purpose,
or even trash it.

Features as I remembered are
  • many mootools effects [from davidwalsh.name],
  • css minifier,
  • layout testing mode,
  • force login,
  • shareable gimp source.
Don't mind the looks, I'm not a designer.
Better see it for yourself. Hope you all like it.

Thank you!
in fact, I switched to MooTools 1.2.x as well on every project whenever it's possible.

I'm having trouble with the frontend submission as it's too dependent on 1.1.x. I'll inspect your template today, however I guess it would be helpful to the community if you'd describe how you did it yourself.

cheers, Piotr

U'r welcome...
Thank you for remind me piotr_cz ;-)

Here's the steps, in order to make mootools 1.2 work in J1.5 note: If this is the first time you've made a core hack, a cup of coffee might help.

The original clone template To use menumatic (drop down menu), follow these steps:
  • Change a menu module position to menumatic.
  • Change advanced parameters: menu tag ID as: menumatic
  • Change module parameters: menu style as: List
  • Change module parameters: Always show sub menu items as: Enabled
This template has using its own library
  • Folder /libraries for php, I've refactor each template part here.
  • Folder /js for mootools effect,
  • Folder /js-dev if you want to experience the original code in separate files.
  • Folder /css for minified stylesheet, to avoid too many http calls
  • Folder /css-dev whenever you want to debug style in its original form. You can set it template parameters as separate css rather than normal or compacted options.
This oriclone template also contain customization other than index.php.
It is offline.php and error.php.

Let's try this 404 in firefox/chrome: http://iluni.org/error.php

Hope this useful.
mmhh. what else should I read.
