Hi!

I'm using AllVideos Reloaded on my site but am having issues with the size of the video. When I post the video with defaults it only shows about a quarter of the video with no controls. I've added the width and height attributes and that did make it larger and show the controls, but it's still cutting off some of the movie. You can see this here:

http://roperlaser.com/index.php?option= ... &Itemid=59

I am assuming that the video is formatted with a larger size. Do I need to use an external program to resize the video (can you recommend one?) or is there a function within AllVideos that I'm missing?

Also, it seems to be working fine in IE...but not in Firefox. =(

Thanks for your help!

Convert the video to FLV...

several programs out there but the problem you are having is the original resolution of the video..
seems like its high quality and huge... could upload to vimeo or something else as long as its not corporate... Otherwise something else supported natively by avr...

WMPlayer kinda is a pain in the rear... I haven't played much with any videos that are in the wmv format or that use that darn player...

http://roperlaser.com/images/stories/vi ... lained.wmv
that video should be converted to flv using a highquality encoder to keep it looking sharp...

One Option - Not free
http://rivavx.com/index.php?encoder

I use Super (free) but not as great quality wise

Hi,

Hopefully this is very simple.
I've looked, but have found no solution.
I have installed allVideos plugin....
I can get it to work just fine when I include {[youtube]}f8AEYAwvlp8{/[youtube]} in an article... However I don't want it in the article content... I want it in the right hand column of my page. I tried to create a 'custom html' module and have included the string to call the player, though only the text shows up. The plugin is not called when I try to reference it through the 'custom html' module...

Any ideas?

TIA,

jj

Below is the only solution I've found.
Please let me know if there are any others.
I'd rather not install another plugin:

----------------------------------------------------
Here is one approach! I am looking for more so please post them if you find them.

1. Create an article with the {stuff}video{/stuff} in its own category

2. Download and install the Joomla Ultimate Content Display module.

3. Add that module to your page with the parameters:

======== CONTENT RETRIEVAL SETTINGS ========
Content source type : CategoryContent
Content source IDs : 39 (this number will be on the far right of the content manager line item)
Ordering: Most recent
Item count: 1

4. I also could not get the UCD to display it without the title in IE 7.0 so you might need the following:

======== ITEM DISPLAY SETTINGS ========
Display: onlyTitle & intotext

Hello, AVR is amazing! Working very well here. Im using the playlist feature, local movies, flvs. So far ok, buuut, im trying to do somethig i dont know its possible:

When you click on any video on the list, it starts to play, is there a way to just "select" it? I mean, when you click on a video (on playlist), it shows the thumb image, but not play. It just plays if you click on play buttom or the play on the middle of the screen.

Is this possible?

This would be very useful, if you want to show some information about the movie in the thumbnail.

Thanks!

no more modules....

AVR installs a module that will work as well...
Just use the at module and it will work... just fill in the fields that pertain to your video...

http://allvideos.fritz-elfert.de/the-module.html
on the top right that one was done via that module...

my junk testing site... valid for that poor band but its kinda ugly

DailyMotion How To Embed And Play in JW Player

Post by subfighter » Fri Dec 05, 2008 7:31 pm

i have installed and used this great component.. But i am having so problem understanding what exactly each section does..

For starters and first problem i would like to resolve. Is that i use many videos from DAILYMOTION but there is no option as some of the Manage Tags/Presets have the REMOTE SERVER JW PLAYER options and other do not?

So is it possible for me edit or add which part to get the DAILYMOTION VIDEO to play in the JW PLAYER.

If so can someone explain to me the steps i really appreciate the help.. And then i can add some more Remote Sites also to play in JW PLAYER?

Daily Motion is completely supported... Uses their player it looks like...
http://allvideos.fritz-elfert.de/docume ... ml?start=3
DailyMotion {dmotion}ID{/dmotion} If the link in your browser displays http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x52yga ... gine_music, then the ID to use is x52yga.

Make sure your allvideosreloated plugin is active though... for it to work in content...

checked and can't seem to figure out how they hide their flvs.... very similar to [youtube] in how they re-code their files...

yes you can create a player but like you said... that is very fun... I've never done it and only seen a few people that know how a few pages back in this thread..

http://allvideos.fritz-elfert.de/docume ... l?start=10
as you can see this documentation is missing!... argh!

however the way to find it is in the component section...
Other forums / systems have the code I've seen the rutube.ru before correctly running sites... just can't remember...

One option...
use this http://in2u.info/rtd/
download the video to your server and host it locally.... that is what I would do if I couldn't figure out the codes to add their player...

maybe you did not understand me correctly..

as i got the video to display in no problem from DAILYMOTION but it shows them embeded using the DAILY MOTION PLAYER.

Is there something i can change so the DAILY MOTION VIDEO .flv will be displayed inside of the JW PLAYER instead..

As there some of the other video components have 2 players .. the regular than a [youtube] JW PLAYER for example..

After i install AVR 1.2.4 i've got this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare utf8_strlen() in /var/www/............/libraries/phputf8/native/strlen.php on line 33

Why?

Later edit:

The question still remain.
I disabled: System - AllVideos Reloaded in Plugin Manager
Now it works

The one thign I am sure isa that playlist xml files are not being written correctly on my system they are missing parameters and therefore breaking playlists.
if you don't know where you're going you are bound to end up somewhere....

It would be neat if i could embed the HD [youtube] video instead of the SD one. Is it possible? i have a video which i want on my site and is in HD and would like to embed that. But i only get the SD version which is absolute crap... any help?

figured it out!

add &ap=%2526fmt%3D22 to the end of your ID... Is it possible to add the feature to AVR? something like hd_video="true"?
Don't hate, appreciate!

Hi there, is there any way to force Daily Motion to play in HQ? I'm lucky enough to be a motion maker and would like to display my video properly at 720x480 by default.

Also is there anyway to stop the DM site loading in another tab/window when it is clicked?

Thanks.

Rowan.

1) go to this site http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/ and download swfobject_2_1.zip
2) unzip and use the file "swfobject.js" to overwrite the file in the following directory "/plugins/content/avreloaded"

The updated file fixes the problem.

If you can't overwrite the file via ftp (sever permissions) then you may need to overwrite this file in the installer (com_avreloaded-1.2.4.zip) - and then uninstall and reinstall the component/plugin.
Just what I needed! Big thanks! :)

Give it a name to remember lowercase is easiest because it matters... will be name.xml.

have to link directly to the flv files to make this work.
viper_iii,

I am trying to do this as well, except with remote video ([youtube]) instead of local. When I try to add a video to a playlist using the "AVR Media" button, the information will autofill in the form but it doesn't send the information over to the actual playlist form after I click "Insert". So, I am manually entering the URLs for the vids in the "Media URL" box of the form, but even when I do that, the videos don't play in the playlist. I get no image in the box. When I hit play, it looks like it tries to go thru each video and all of them fail because each video's time pops up separately for a split second and then the playlist stops trying to play them. I am also trying to put them into a module, not straight into an article. Does this make a difference? My site is http://www.coastcommunitychurch.net, but in order to view the playlist, you will need to register a username and I will need to give you "Special Access" because the playlist is on our testing page which is only viewable to users with "Special Access". Please let me know if you can help, and if you need special access.

Thank you,

Hey guys,

So after some further searching I found a user who has the same issue but only with some videos in the playlist. I'm going to attempt doing this by manual code in the content instead of thru the module and see how that goes.

Thanks,
Brian

**SOLVED! SOLVED!**

Ok so...DEFINITELY DON'T USE THE MODULE! USE HTML IN THE CONTENT!!!! Here's my solution:

Code: Select all

{[youtube] popup ="true" divid="mypopup1" usefullscreen="true"}Cg9IdLO_XWU{/[youtube]} {avrpopup type="lightbox" id="mypopup1"}Dress Rehearsal: Dancing Queen{/avrpopup}

{[youtube] popup ="true" divid="mypopup2" usefullscreen="true"}f9yRvoCZ80A{/[youtube]} {avrpopup type="lightbox" id="mypopup2"}Dress Rehearsal: It's Raining Men!{/avrpopup}

{[youtube] popup ="true" divid="mypopup3" usefullscreen="true"}gQyH44XGPdk{/[youtube]} {avrpopup type="lightbox" id="mypopup3"}Talent Competition: Whisper's Interpretive Dance{/avrpopup}

{[youtube] popup ="true" divid="mypopup4" usefullscreen="true"}wculnLacYiA{/[youtube]} {avrpopup type="lightbox" id="mypopup4"}Talent Competition: Cheeky Shenanigans' Flag Dance{/avrpopup}
What this code does is place each video into a link that the person just clicks and then they can open the video in a lightbox and watch it there. They also have a fullscreen option.

GAH! THAT WAS INSANE! I was really stressing out! I was so stuck on trying to get it to work in a playlist but I didn't think about just separating out each video instead of dealing with a playlist. You guys...seriously...unless you want a whole bunch of videos lining up your whole screen, this is a WAAAAAAAAAAYYY better option than using the playlist (my opinion). At least when working with remote content. Maybe local is easier, but trying to do it with remote sucks! Here's my page if you want to see the results:

http://coastcommunitychurch.net/index.p ... &Itemid=93
http://coastcommunitychurch.net/index.p ... &Itemid=40

Thanks,
Brian ;D

Can you explain again in layman's terms? What if the video is not from [youtube]. Can the same be done. I want to put some space videos from NASA, but I can't figure out how to do it with out a playlist. Your way seems better. Also, your videos were absolutely awesome. All I could say was Halleluah!

Hello,
I would like to know how top code a new player and a new media tag, I am asking you here because I tried and cannot make it work.
I found a nice Videos resource and I cannot make it work with allvideos at all.
Please look at this link
http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/videos/35564/ ... er_IV.html

and tell me what codes do I need to create a nw media tag anad player for this.

I tried player code

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript">
swfobject.embedSWF('http://www.4gtv.com/player.swf','@DIVID@','@WIDTH@','@HEIGHT@','9.0.28',@XPINST@,
{vid:'@CODE@',flag:'1'},{allowfullscreen:'true',wmode:'@WMODE@',bgcolor:'@BGCOLOR@',menu:'@MENU@'},{id:'p_@DIVID@',styleclass:'@AVCSS@'});
</script>
and media tag code

Code: Select all

http:\/\/(?:\w+\.)?4gtv\.com\/xplay\/videos\/([^&]+)\/$
Why does not work? Is the media code ok/not ok? PLayer?

BUT before that...isn't it possible to use tags like

Code: Select all

{flw}link{/flw}
Please help,
Danny

1. open phpmyadmin
2. browse to jos_components table and find AvReloaded
3. edit and add on "admin_menu_link": option=com_avreloaded&view=playlists
4. also add in "admin_menu_img": components/com_avreloaded/assets/avreloaded-16x16.png

Hello.
I have a small issue. I wouldlike to add a new video hosting service (screencast.com) to AVR.
This is how look Share URL:

Code: Select all

http://www.screencast.com/t/3duQdRvK
And embed code:

Code: Select all

<object name="Video" classid="clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,5,715" standby="Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject"  width="640" height="545"> <param name="url" value="http://content.screencast.com/users/Barmetrix/folders/FB Clips/media/a846a70a-e56c-4ae8-b459-0b453c403c1e/LMS Presentation.wmv"></param> <param name="AutoStart" value="0"></param> <param name="ShowControls" value="true"></param> <param name="uiMode" value="full"></param> <param name="playCount" value="1"></param> <param name="CurrentPosition" value="0"></param> <embed name="Video" type="application/x-mplayer2" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/Barmetrix/folders/FB Clips/media/a846a70a-e56c-4ae8-b459-0b453c403c1e/LMS Presentation.wmv" autoStart="0" showcontrols="1" uimode="full" playcount="1" currentposition="0" width="640" height="545"></embed> </object>
I started with "Menage PLayers" tab and created new player.
I noticed that AVR uses swfObject to play videos and embed code is unnecessary, so I used code from [youtube] platr, changed url, and saved. (first screenshot).
After that I started with Manage Tags/Presets (second screen), and stopped on Sampling regex. Unfortunelly I don't know how to fill it in.
Please help.

I have a problem with firefox. The video loads ok but after about 2 secs it disappears. the sound still plays but the picture goes blank white. If I scroll the page or minimise it and then put it back up the picture returns for another 2 secs.

It works fine in IE. Also the background of the player is white in ffirefox and black in IE.

Can anyone help?

First I gotta give KUDOS to Fritz for his work on AVR.

Secondly, anyone using their videos with a lightbox. I've tried both versions of the following code to activate a lightbox and I get a "Popup database error". I saw a few other posts for the same error with no solution.

Code: Select all

{wmv divid="popupexample" popup="true" autostart="true"}samplevid{/wmv}
<a href="#" onclick="AvrPopup(event, 'popupexample', 'lightbox');">Show in lightbox</a>
and

Code: Select all

{wmv divid="sample" popup="true" autostart="true"}sample{/wmv}
{avrpopup type="lightbox" id="sample"}Show in lightbox{/avrpopup}
Odd thing is the first article I used the lightbox code on still works, and is the only article that works. I can load multiple videos on that one article, however on any other or new articles I get the "Popup database error".

I've been working on this for two days, different files, different folders (always wmv) just making sure it's not something I'm doing. I've even reinstalled AVR, does anyone have any suggestions.
thanks.

sk.

I am attempting to perform the 'onlyonce' scripting. I'm hoping that someone can help answer a couple of really dumb questions:

1. What exactly do we mean by the 'header section' of the template. At first, I thought this meant between the head tags. But when I tried it, it did not work - and I noticed that I could see the java script in my page source, whereas I cannot see the javascript in the demo page source. So where exactly does the template script belong?

2. The media tag in the example is '{flvdivid="onlyonce" enablejs="true"}acera{/flv}' - obviously for a local flv file called 'acera'. If using a [youtube] file, would the proper tag be'{[youtube]="onlyonce" enablejs="true"}[youtube]_ID{/[youtube]}'?

Thanks!!!

I had a similar problem with certain video formats when I was missing the Real Player plugin in Firefox. Once I downloaded RP and installed the Firefox plugin, then no more problems.

Thanks!
I had similar problems with MooMenu and slideshow modules. The solution is to get into the template's CSS file and increase the Z-index value for the drop-down menus.

There is a lot of help for this published in the RocketTheme forums.

Hi!

First of all I would like to thank you for such a great plugin. But, I noticed bug with module. When module is published and I click on any of these links:

* Forgot your password?

I got error message:
JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''avreloaded0','
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!

If the error occurs when you click the login module links, then I am inclined to think that this is a problem with your login module.

Does the problem go away if you unpublish the AV Reloaded module?

Hello everybody, I have a problem with videos on my Joomla site and hope you can help me.

I have no problem posting a video within content, but the problem comes up when it starts loading. On a 2 minutes video sometimes it loads 20 seconds, or 38 seconds (the loadig bar goes slowly loading as in [youtube]) and then the loading bar goes very fast to the end, like a 100% loaded, but that's not true because I can only play the first 20 or 38 seconds of the video.

I've installed AllVideos, then Allvideos reloaded and the same problem.

Can anybody hekp me to solve this please?

Thnk you!
