Re: Jumi - the set of custom code extensions

I tried this, and it still brings up a new page outside of Joomla. Maybe I am missing something, what goes after option=com_jumi.....?
Just insert in action="xxx" the URL of the page with your article containing the form.
You can omit everything before the word "index".

The second question is changing the content.
a) you have to check the form was submitted (via some hidden input value),
b) you have to deal with Joomla! cache.
For an ispiration see Jumi tips and trick - self calling forms. Although it was written for Joomla 1.0, you can find there some answers.

I must say that your instructions below were a great help. I haven't been able to find anything as clear in the Jumi documentation.
It would be really nice if someone could write a clear, concise, step-by-step tutorial on how to set up Jumi from scratch!
Charlie,
I have thought I had done it. Until know. I have thought the site jumi.vedeme.cz is nothing but clear + concise + step - by step tutorial.

Can you tell me, please, where is my main mistake in current jumi.vedeme.cz documentation? What can I do better?
Thanks in an advance!

Even stranger, when i went back to try and edit the sef url again, its not in there! I know you are probably thinking "of course it is!" but its not :(
I believe you - the same happens for me.
But it can be found in "View mode - Custom Redirect" list.
I tried doing a custom redirect from 404sef, but it has to start with index.php so i used this
www.online-psychic-reading.co.uk/index. ... i&fileid=3
Not exactlu what is needed.
You have to write
New SEF URL: something/love-calculator
Old Non-SEF URL:index.php?option=com_jumi&fileid=1&lang=en
Which of course does redirect to /love-calculator, but doesnt help me get a link to stop saying the whole componant/option,com_jumi/Itemid,79/fileid,3/ thing.
Yes, there is still there.
It is most probably because Jumi does not have 404SEF sef plugin like.

I have changed the code inside to my own, its working fine, but when I change the menu Hello Jumi, Its stops working.

To trademoneyman:
Set up the page first, see what the url is, then put it in the action. I don't know what the specific url is on your system. For instance, my page is

Code: Select all

index.php?option=com_jumi&fileid=4&Itemid=20
... so see - it depends on your actual page.

The link looks like

Code: Select all

<a href="index.php?option=com_jumi&fileid=ID">link text</a>
where ID is id (number) of your Jumi component application item.
Is it what you need?

Hi,

I have just installed a vanilla version of joomla on a wamp server on my vista machine so that I can have a play with jumi without affecting anything else.

I installed the jumi file jumi_pack_2.0.4_for_1.5.zip. The installation was fine and I went to the jumi website to work through some tutorials. I got to the section "Using Jumi Coder" which is at the url (http://jumi.vedeme.cz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34&Itemid=54&limitstart=1). However when I tried to follow the video I did not get button to start the coder at the bottom of the editor's window. I checked that the module and plug-in were enabled. Then I tried the option with all the possible editors enabled. Finally I froze the video at the point where the php code is pasted into the "Joomla! Overview" article and copied the php code into the article. When I ran this I got an error from Jumi to do with putting square brackets around the first word.

Are there configurations in Joomla or Jumi that I have not set properly?

how to appy Jumi to set up a TWITTER-bridge or to say better - a Twitter-widget. I would love to run a twitter-widget like it is shown on the page

http://www.anahitapolis.com [sorry folks for the inconvenience - at the moment it is not visible. I guess that this is a bug in my FireFox 3.5]

but any way is a Twitter-widged - is this this doable with JUMI!?

look forward to hear from you

cheers

Zzcgujl,
you are doing everything well.
Just using 2.0.4 version while Jumi code is available in 2.1.0 only beta. :)
(I do apologize if manuals you have read do not state it sufficiently expicitly.)

Joo_jesus,
I've got two messages>
a) I know nothing more abot twitter then it exists,
b) it is possible: the other Jumi developer, Ed, runs it on his page (see thisand left column).
I think it would be best if you ask himn to give you an advice in this matter. You can approach him by his web or just send him personal message.
As an another option: there are Twitter modules in JED like this one. You can donwload it and accomodate it to your needs (its GPL).

And the last option. If twitter widget is a widget from widgetbox.com
it must look like some code. Get it. The
either
a) Open Jumi module and paste the code into Code written area.Save it, publish it. Done.
or
b) save it as a file and write the filepathname to it into an approptiate field of Jumi module. Save it, publish it. Done.

i will dig into these ways of getting the twitter-app up and running. Great to see that there are some ways. As t old above - the jumi allready runs - it runs like a charme. The installation was
easy.

Many thanks for the quick reply. This is a very good thread with overwhelming supportive people. You are very supportive.

thx for all you do! Keep up your great work. It rocks!!!

Is it possible to rename the component?

Post by Z3RatuL » Wed Jul 08, 2009 10:02 am

Hi!

This component rocks, however I have a slight strange question.

I would like to rename the component, say to Cars (com_cars). I tried by renaming both administrator and root component folders to com_cars, also renamed the data at the database in components table from com_jumi to com_cars and changed urls at administrator/components/admin.jumi.php file from com_jumi to com_cars and still I get a url not found error.

The reason I'm doing this is that I don't want for someone who knows his way around joomla to see that I'm using jumi for my website and think hey I could try to eject this site and so on...

Is it possible to rename it, or not?

Huzefahusain,
I opened data.xls in MS Excel 2007 and data are nicely spread into different rows.
The same behavior occurred with OpenOffice Calc 3.1.

So I am affraid that data.xls file is all right. Maybe there could be problems with your reader???

Z3RatuL,
Do it. Although I am not the author of the component I think Ed, the other developer, will not mind. As for myself I I have no objections. The reason is clear.

It is technically possible.
You will have to change more files then you did.
- Open the distribution package and all files you will see at the top should be checked up. Even xml.
- Then files at the top of admin directory.
- And then router plugin - it changes component URL.

g´ day dear Friends good day dear MarHaj!

well i am fairly new to Jumi and the options that we have with it.

At the moment i try to get some things done - perhaps with Jumi. I currently only want to add add one image to my template. Well see the demo-image below. It is quite very very simple. i want to add a image to the template...?! I really appreatiate a hint. BTW: Jumi allready is installed on my site!

See the demo - and see the thumbnail-images that are on the right position. How can i add them to the template..!? In one demo-shot it is shown with a red circle, that i have created.

Question: Can this be done with Jumi!? Hmmm - i i really look forward to hear from you!

many many thanks in advance!

regards
joo ;)

BTW:- see the page without the image - it is shown here: http://www.jobstarters.org - i want to add the image in a block at the right column!
Note: sure you see that adding a image is only somewhat a FAKE... since i am waiting f or the social-engines

a. Joomunity - or Tuiyo.co.uk
b. Anahitapolis.com
c. elgg.org - added to Joomla with a bridge... or perhaps getting this done with
d. community builder... -[which is not my favorite since it is not very easy to use]

i want to see how it looks like with the image... ;) - Afterwards - and with a release of such a social engine i am triing to do the thing with a social engine.

Thank you guys for this great extension. I use it for google adsense and all other javascript.
I'm using version 2.0.3 at the moment. I noticed that you have a new version 2.0.4 which I have just downloaded. Do I really need to upgrade? and why?

Thanks

Question: Can this be done with Jumi!?
joo_jesus,
Jumi does not manipulate with the template.

If you want to include image into the template, which is as I guess modified ja-purity, do it via direct modification of index.php of the template.
You will find there (line 194 or so)
<?php if ($this->countModules('right')): ?>

Code: Select all

<!-- BEGIN: RIGHT COLUMN -->
<div id="ja-col2">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="right" style="jarounded" />
</div><br />
<!-- END: RIGHT COLUMN -->
<?php endif; ?>
Include directly after or before <jdoc:include ... />

Code: Select all

<img scr="<?php echo $tmpTools->baseurl(); ?>/images/myimage.jpg" />
The image will be there.

But there is another, more flexible solution and without template manipulation
I think it would be best to create a module (eother by jumi ot custom module) with images included and publish into "right" module position and on every Joomla! page.

Kualaho,
there is a security risk in a Jumi component ver 2.0.3 or lower.
You need not upgrade actually. You can make changes manually:

1. find file components/com_jumi/jumi.php
2. make in jumi.php the following changes:
For Joomla! 1.5 (for Joomla! 1.0 it is different)
change line 11 from

Code: Select all

$fileid = JRequest::getVar('fileid');
to

Code: Select all

$fileid = JRequest::getInt('fileid');
That's all.

The second line (with getInt) means, that in URL of Jumi component fileid can be integer only. While in the first case it is possible to write SQL syntax:
http://localHost/path/index.php?option= ... leid=n<Sql Code>
where
<Sql code>:
'+and+(select+substring(concat(1,password),1,1)+from+jos_users+limit+0,1)=1/*
'+and+(select+substring(concat(1,username),1,1)+from+jos_users+limit+0,1)=1/*
/index.php?option=com_jumi&fileid=2'+and+(select+substring(concat(1,username),1,1)+from+jos_users+limit+0,1)=1/*
etc, etc...
Well, it is called SQLsecurity vulnerability.

I did not invented it (hackers did it). I was warned by the user and Ed, the other Jumi developer, has fixed it.

hello dear MarHaj hello @ all!

many many thanks for the quick reply - i am sure that you r emember the posting more above in the thread - with the two screenshots - of the page http://www.jobstarters.org.

What is aimed: i just want to add a single image - see the image with the tumbails - (note: i have created a single image out of little thumbnails. - just curious but - anyway! ;)

When wanting to add one single image to my template - i thing i would love to go this way. You adviced me to do it - either custom-module or to do it the jumi-way. And yes - i have jumi up and running: So if i customize it - it appears on the right side two windows-panel where i can edit notes and where i can add some code in [ in the lower window ]

Joo-jesus,
just write standard html code into the "Code written" area.
<img src="path_to_myimage.gif" alt="My image" />
You can write there any html, php, javascript code...
