Ads never being displayed

Hi i'm new to AdManager but it looks great.

Only problem is I can add a advert fine and can view them in administrator, however, they never appear on the website itself. the link never goes up from 'All Adds (0)'. when you click on this or do a search it never finds anything.

has anyone had this problem before?

any help would be greatly appretiated.

i', using joomla 1.5 with legacy mode enabled.
