Adding a SiteLock Badge

Postby kenjnz » Fri Feb 11, 2011 6:31 am

I want to add a SiteLock badge to my site. I created a custom_mod and inserted the code from sitelock into the custom output section. The only thing the mod outputs is the code and not the badge image. Thought this would be a no brainer. Can anyone help? This is the code for the badge:

<img src="//shield.sitelock.com/shield/www.mysite.com" id="sl_shield_image" style="cursor: pointer;" alt = "SiteLock"/><script id="sl_shield" type="text/javascript" src="//shield.sitelock.com/sitelock.js" language="javascript"></script>

I finally recieved help from SiteLock, they instructed me to do the following:

"In order to place the SiteLock shield in your website using joomla, you can
follow the steps given below:
1. Login to Joomla administrator.
2.Go to Extensions tab.
3. Select the template you use.
4. Go to "Edit HTML" tab at the top corner.
5. Place the certification code where ever you want to display it, ie: at footer or header."

I found you also need to have a module enabled in that position for the badge to show up.
I placed the badge code after the </div> for that position,(footer, header, left, right), and it showed up correctly. Those with more code experience may have a better place to put it and also position it within in the particular module. Hope this helps.

I know it's an old post but I was just dealing with site lock code and came across this.

When you pasted the code into the custom module did you enter it into the editor, or did you paste it in as code?

I just put the site lock code on a site by using the method suggested in your post by site lock support. I just stuck it in the footer and it worked fine. I was using the floating version though.

I created a new "custom" module and then using the editor for the module, clicked on "source code", then entered the sitelock code and saved. I placed the position as footer. I also had sitelock code that made it float in the lower right hand corner.

Also made module setting to display in every menu or page.
