Editor Switch

Post by ddmobley » Sat Aug 09, 2008 10:57 pm

I have been using Joomla now for over 2 years. I make my living with Joomla. But after 2 years, I am tired of aborting the editing of an article, going to the User Manager and turning my WYSIWYG editor off, then returning to the article I was editing.

The determination of the editor that is used when creating or editing an article is simply the $mosConfig_editor variable from the configuration file or the editor from the user's data record. There needs to be a toolbar button within the article editing window that is labeled "Switch Editor", which allows you to switch between the editor you have configured and No WYSIWYG. It doesn't have to save anything, except to save your current editor mode in memory and switch between the two when the button is clicked. This doesn't seem to be rocket science. I can't be the first person who has thought of this.

But really, doesn't all that running back and to seem silly?
