Hi,

I like your template very much. The only problem i have is to display special characters, e.g. è.
With all possible font styles this character will not be displayed. What can I do?

Kind regards,
Dieter

Does the character show in default template? (milkyway)

You mean, within the sIFR titles or the whole site?

In this case I mean SIFR_SITE_TITLE.
In normal articles and in the standard templates the è will be shown.

The sIFR fonts included with the template are the reduced versions to save on filesize.  You will need to replace these with the full character sets if you need special characters...that should work.

Can you explain me, what steps need to be done to
(a) include only this special character into these swf-files
(b) eventually create swf-files for another font and use it with your template.

Happy new year and kind regards,
Dieter

Hi Dieter,

In answer to your questions:

a) I'm not entirely sure, but I think you will need to create a new sIFR font using a font that has these characters included, I guess not all have them.  I could be wrong here, but I can't see any other way of creating them.

b) You should download the sIFR distribution from http://www.mikeindustries.com/sifr. It has all the files and documentation you need.  You will also need Macromedia/Adobe Flash in order to export the new font(s) - the tryout version will work for this if you only need it temporarily.

Cheers
Dan

Sorry David.

Can you not just collapse the left column altogether when you need a wider content section?  Just a thought.

If you need to change the physical width, you will need to set the width value in the main CSS file (template.css), and adjust the content margin to match.  You will also need to edit the PNGs which give the faux column.

Hi Dan,

thanks for your tipps concerning sifr-fonts. I'll give it a try.

Besides that I have a minor problem when I want to enter a new article at the frontend using link index.php?option=com_content&view=article&layout=form

With the beez-template the Online-Editor uses the middle and the right space for displaying the editing window. With your template the same space is used, but the right column ist overlapping the editor (without content), so a part of the editing window is missing.
When I edit an existing article, the right column is displayed with content and the left column is being used for the editor without cutting a part away.
I use orientation left and the rest are standard settings of your template.

Kind regards,
Dieter

I love the template and I would vote for it, but it does not have the option instead of text to have a logo or image. Are their plans to include a space for logos?

I know I could just change the picture it self, but I cannot change the template that easily to fit what I have.

I have used both this and JApurity on 2 seperate projectsbut this one is my favourite.

Can't believe more people voted for it. :(

Japurity is a good template but still has a few issues that need resolving.

Anyway, thanks for the template I will always consider using it for further projects.

Can I just say I love the look and feel of this template. It is tops!

I have tried loading it onto our test webstie (http://brimbank.chipguard.net/_brimbank/) and it loads fine, however when I go to the administrator side of things and try to get to its parameters I get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot access empty property in /home/chijaruy/public_html/brimbank/_brimbank/libraries/joomla/registry/registry.php on line 146

Has anyone else experienced this... is it a bug with the template or Joomla?

I love this template it is perfect and exactly what I am looking for for site I am bringing over from e107.

However I need a few changes and was wondering if there would be anyone out there who would consider giving me a hand on this for a little cash insentive, I am a developer but as a designer I am terrible.

Essentially I am looking to wrap SMF inside the content section, however the section is not very long and i wanted to expand it.

I also need to change some colours, my site has a maroon colour base due to the team it is based on, and I wanted to see if anyone could help with a maroon addition to this and as well as that encorporating our new logo in there and some better and more banner positions, is there anyone out there that could help?

Dan

This is definitely a very nice template!

Suggestions for enhancements:

1. Dynamic width page (keeping the left and right columns fixed).

2. Other colour options.

3. More font options for the sIFR title.

But otherwise?  Pretty frickin' sweet.  :)

Hey,

like everyone else has said - thanks for a brilliant template.

I've ran into problems when displaying my local site in IE6. I had to resize the left column to make the content pane bigger. I editted the neccessary columns and everything works fine in Firefox. However, when I display my page in IE6, the contant pane's content overflows onto the left column. Also, some of the contentpane's font styles have changed. I imagine this is an issue to do with IE6 non conformity to css standards or something.

Can somebody help me with this please?  :'(

EDIT: I also see now that text is being cut off on certain content pages (such as Joomla Overview and Licence etc) - I'd appreciate it if anyone could help with this too....thanks!

I'm using this template "gamerscraft.com" and I ran into the same problems in IE. If you're posting images it pushes the text out of the table.. make sure you format your article correctly so its not cluttered thus pushing the table out of wack.

Hello To you All,

I have a bit of the same problem. I use the tbc_fivepoint_unity template which is fabulas BUT the main contact area is to narrow. I want to install a forum and i need this piece wider.

You said that we  could change the collapse on. Well this works because the left column collapse when it's empty BUT the main content area still stays de same.

You also said that we could edit the CSS file BUT what do i have to edit???

Any help would be GREAT!!

This is the room that i need. (Component area need to be wider)
Image

BUT THIS IS WHAT I HAVE (TO SMALL).

Best regards and thanks in advance.
