Who has been here longer that me that's still active?

Post by Forsh » Tue Jun 25, 2019 6:17 am

I noticed that I have been here 13-years...I must be an old-timer, how many of you that are still around have been here as long or longer than me? Only wondering, just a fun topic. :pop

In 13-years I should have become a Joomla grandmaster but I am nowhere near it. Shoot, it's come a very long way from Mambo. How many of you even know what Mambo is!? I'm getting old.

I remember using OUIJA boards to communicate with my friends. Oh, and I remember when I could fit 40 copies of an entire website on a 5¼-inch floppy disk.

There are at least 20 members who started in August 2005 and were still active in 2019. I missed the Mambo stage but started with Joomla 1.0 in 2007 in Australia.

Well actually my mother-in-law still uses OUIJA to talk with friends...

I been with Joomla since the start and what separate Joomla is that its owned and controlled by its community for good and bad in some cases for get things in the right direction takes more time sometimes.

I tried a lot of other CMS but they are in my opinion overhyped compared to Joomla. Joomla can solve almost all publishing requirments you might have very good.
Success in the long run Its not about the code its about the people and community that's make it!
Its not what you say its what you do that matters!

All of a sudden I feel a junior... May 2008.....

But......... I started with J! in about 2006 or 2007 somewhere...

Before that... worked bare HTML and javascript websites... and before that... tore sheets from a fax... remember the fax? I even tore sheets from a telex.. I can remember I actually could read messages from staring at the punch tapes..... all of a sudden I feel old..........
