Joomla vs Wordpress

I'm currently updating the article on cms [ redacted ]. One of the points is security issues with off-the-shelf solutions like Wordpress or Joomla. Most of the statistics says that WP is quite vulnerable. Is it the same for Joomla? If you've had experience with both of them, could you compare overall user experience and security?

The WordPress and Joomla core are both safe. The problem with WordPress is that you need many plugins to have the same features that Joomla already has built in its core. These WordPress plugins have different quality, and not all are secure.
