The way to do this is one click in menu Permalinksym1 wrote:I'd like to completely remove dates from post articles. The way to do this is to create a child theme and edit the code in the functions.php, but if you want to use another theme you have to go back in and do it over again. I just want articles without dates.

I don't mean in the URL structure. I mean in the metadata on the pages themselves.

If you go to this link: http://community.joomla.org/labels/joom ... folio.html (link is on joomla.org)If you want real to compare this systems go and look at who uses Joomla, look at what Joomla have/can do. Look who uses WordPress see what WordPress can do
Most sites are from 2011-2013. Some of them are different, some not working.
This is huge bad PR for J!
So there is nothing to compare.

Hi,
When you said :
Wordpress has high server load with high traffic sites. Period.
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=wo ... erver+load
About 1,910,000 results (0.32 seconds)
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=jo ... erver+load
About 417,000 results (0.33 seconds)
It's a very bad new for Joomla because you forgot to tell that 23.8% of the web run with wordpress and only 2.8% with Joomla ...(8.5 more)...
take a look to my source http://w3techs.com/technologies/overvie ... ement/all/
So in fact you have to correct joomla results to be equitable in front of wordpress ... and obtain :
417.000 x 8.5 = 3.544.500 theoric results in proportion to the number of joomla sites ... oopss

Re: Joomla Vs Wordpress 2015 | In depth comparison
It's bad practice to decide what platform or framework to use based on who or how many people are using it.
1. Why do you need to make a website?
2. What type of website is it?
2. How much is your budget in starting and maintaining the website?
3. Who will use and maintain the website?
4. Who is your target audience for your website?
Currently, WordPress core is a blogging and publishing platform. It becomes a content management system by injecting plugins to turn it into one. Joomla core is a CMS with a taxonomy system that's (trying to look) similar to Drupal.
If my client needs a document management system, I use Joomla because of DOCman by JoomlaTools. If there's DOCman for WordPress, maybe? Current taxonomy system of WordPress is horrid. I'm only using WordPress now because of Akeeba Backup, which was available only for Joomla initially.
If budget is an issue or the business/service is just your average "mom and pop" establishment, you can make a Facebook Fanpage instead.
