Joomla vs. Drupal

Post by SamStamport » Mon Jan 23, 2017 4:53 pm

Hello,

I've been struggling with Drupal for a couple of years. I have found support lacking. There are lots of videos, blogs, & forum posts that are dated, ambiguous, and vague. Support forums postings to my questions are sometimes surly and assume that a newbie like me understands all the acronyms.

How does Joomla support compare to this? I'm hoping it caters to newbies and that responses are timely.

Thanks!

Hmmm ...

I'm hoping someone who has used both Drupal & Joomla can offer their perspective.

Thanks!

SamStamport,
Sorry, but I haven't used Drupal, but have been exploring a new site using Joomla. I have worked with Wordpress for 6 or 7 years though and I can tell you from my perspective is that it seems Wordpress is a little easier to understand than Joomla, and has a lot of support. But Joomla doesn't seem terribly complicated and has this forum for great support. If I were you I would explore both Joomla and maybe consider Wordpress too. Also, I'm not very techy so if I can understand it you can! 8)

Thanks.

Does it take days to get answers on the forum?

Do the replies to questions assume a lot of prior knowledge?

Not days (usually).
Depending on the time of day, you may get multiple answers within an hour or two.

Not if you explain that you aren't au fait with Joomla. ;)
