hello every one :))

I like joomla very much. I've started to use it at 1.0.x version. Over the time passed I tend to grumble over features it had or hasnt. But when i looked at first glance on ver. 3 I felt very disappoined. They say that it's user friendly but I think that no users taken part in creation process. Still I get the same limits as I get before, still it's "database/object oriented" and not "user friendly" oriented. I still see database structure in its behavior.

I think the best reflection of such approach is contacts module where still no blog feature even though it really acts like a blog (list of categories gathers information about contacts in it an then discards it, exculding their number, instead of simply presenting category/contact list). It is so SIMPLE its so OBVIOUS, but "no we dont give it to you ... you have to rewrite it by yourself", again ...

Still no K2 features in core ...

Moderator note: Moved from General Questions/New to Joomla! 3.x to The Lounge.

Joomla is used by millions of websites. That have millions of different features and use cases. You cannot have one system that does it all by default. IMHO Joomla is great because it offers you a solid basis that you can extend with Components, Modules, Plugins, Templates, Language files. You do not need to be a programmer to extend the functionality of Joomla with extensions.

Sorry, but I do not understand your idea of having a blog feature with the Contacts Component / Module.
Why would you like to have a feature that makes it possible for visitors to post public posts to a contact page?
IMHO that's not a feature that a lot of people would need in their website, but maybe I am wrong...

Regarding your "Still no K2 features in core", Joomla has a feature called Custom Fields that has been added to the core since version 3.7 https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Adding_custom_fields
