Problems creating FTP

I know this isn't strictly a Joomla! problem, however, this is the lounge so somebody may be able to help.

I wonder if anybody can assist. I just purchased a VPS with dream host but am having problems uploading files to the server via FTP. As far as I am aware I've set up FTP correctly and I can even access the server. However, I'm not seeing the home/mywebsite directories which is strange. Any idea what's going on?

I never thought to look at the help files on Dream Host :-). Sorry, that was somewhat sarcastic. Yes, I have looked at all of those files, about 50 times. However, I can't seem to work out where I'm going wrong. Everything is working, I can enter in all the information into FileZilla and it connects me to the server. However, the only difference is that the home/website directories are not visible and I just can't work out why. I have sent a message to dream host but they haven't returned my message yet. Just thought I would see if anybody on here has encountered a similar problem.

well as you didnt ssay you had read the help pages then how would i know?
as you are PAYING dreamhost then demand that SCREAMHOST respond to your service complaint.
i am sure that there are more people on the dreamhost forums that have had this issue than on the J forums who may have had this issue.
