very clever, but I dont think it would change anything for previous owners.
I know people buying many country TLD's without being related to those countries..

This applies only to .eu domain owners in the UK ,it has nothing to do with other countries TLD.

The wonders of Brexit.
I doubt that this brexit will even happen though. I remember seeing the same thing about eu domains back in 2016. Although it is very alarming, especially for UK companies using this tld. But I am sure they will allow them to keep them somehow, I hope at least.

I hope brexit fails too, however if it doesn't then the .eu will not be available to UK residents.

Personally, I'm hoping/expecting that the UK .eu domain names will be "grandfathered" in, similar to what happened when the rules around .edu domain names changed in the past. (This would mean that if you already had a .eu domain name you'd be able to keep it, but not register any new .eu domains.)

... I am happy to register your .eu domains and point them... at a tiny fee of course ....

When this comes to a business, send my sincere thanks and regards to Boris and Nigel. :D

More on .eu domains after Brexit can be found here:
EURid is the registry manager for .eu domain names.
https://eurid.eu/en/register-a-eu-domain/brexit-notice/

As it is now (of course things may change)
.eu domains are only available for EU and EEA member states
After Brexit, and if the UK and Gibraltar are not EEA members, no-one in the UK/GI is allowed to register a new .eu domain.
Also existing UK/GI owners of .eu domains are not allowed to renew its registration.

And as I understand it: 1 year after Brexit all .eu domains held by UK/GI businesses or persons are revoked and become available.
So It's no use to register, or renew a registration of, an .eu domain for, say, 10 years 1 day before Brexit day.

One very large registrar has registered all .uk versions of domains it holds just in case its clients want them.. but will sell them to you at a special rate in case you want them.....carpet bagging!
