Joomla speed at the bottom of CMS comparison

Post by crashtackle » Tue Oct 08, 2019 4:18 pm

Hi,

Just read this article https://backlinko.com/page-speed-stats which places Joomla right at the bottom of CMS's with respect to site speed.

Anyone got any views on this?

All CMS's can have issues with Page Speed scores. You can address a lot of those issues, regardless of the CMS.

One good Joomla Extension for PageSpeed is JCH Optimize.

If you run your site through Google's PageSpeed tool you'll get recommendations for improvement.

I would say, try to build the same design and content website with 3 different CMS, then do a speed test to see how it fares against each other with the same spec.
