A reintroduction

Post by peerless » Sat Jul 24, 2021 4:46 pm

Hello Again!

Its me Robert, come on you can't say you don't remember me? :D

I just reactivated my old account, I see my last log in was Dec, 15 2012 and my first post was sometime in 2007.

A lot has changed in Joomla and my old automotive shop website domain name has sadly ended up a chinese porn site :(
{I closed the shop up and shut everything down in 2014, kind of wished I had kept the domain name.}

Anyways I am now constructing a new personal website that will serve as both my own personal playground but also as a portfolio for my prior works and my new adventures in both work and life.

I learned a few things from back in those days and I certainly look forward to getting my new site setup in a way that I am not subject to the whims of a large hosting company. I have chosen to go with a raw bare bones VPS server running Linux and have gotten a long way with getting it setup. I got the base Joomla site installed and everything seems to work.

Anyways, happy to be back and look forward to being a part of the community, it feels good to be back in the Joomla community. I felt good about it back then and I feel warm and fuzzy about it today.

See ya all on the forums!
Robert

Cool! I am a Linux enthousiast too. The Joomla User Groups inspired me to start a Linux User Group in my hometown.
I use my own VPS servers (with Nginx webserver) for Joomla sites.
