Videos Embedded

Post by pterosaur2 » Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:05 pm

I am looking for advice with a live site problem that appeared after uploading a Helix3 update. The site is

Setting - Value

PHP Built On Linux arche.unity5.net 2.6.32-696.30.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue May 22 03:28:18 UTC 2018 x86_64
Database Type mysql
Database Version 5.5.5-10.3.23-MariaDB
Database Collation latin1_swedish_ci
Database Connection Collation utf8mb4_general_ci
PHP Version 7.3.20
Web Server Apache
WebServer to PHP Interface cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.10.2 Stable [ Daraja ] 12-September-2021 11:01 GMT
Joomla! Platform Version Joomla Platform 13.1.0 Stable [ Curiosity ] 24-Apr-2013 00:00 GMT
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:95.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/95.0

Since the update all embedded videos have ceased to play, [youtube], Instagram etc. The Shortcode used to display them within articles is all that shows. I have reverted all the Helix3 extension changes to previous versions but this has made no difference.
How can I identify if the short code is being parsed and if not what could have caused the problem?

Thank you.

Note, your site is out of date. Joomla 3.10.4 is the latest. Your PHP is out of date - 7.3 is obsolete, 7.4 or 8.x are the current PHP that is supported. (7.4 in its last year, security updates only).

What plugin are you using for which you use the short-code? Does direct embedding e.g. using You Tube's provided embed code work? Is the video player plugin up to date? Does it work properly with Helix 3, or your Joomla version? (or PHP version)?

Did you know you could the forum post assistant to provide the system information? (See the red box top of screen under Forum Rules). It would save a lot of follow-up questions. https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/
