How do I change parts of my website to French?

Post by mamapumpkin » Thu Nov 03, 2011 2:09 pm

I am a Joomla newbie and am stumped on how best to proceed here. I am building a French website, the backend can be in English, front-end is in French. At the moment the content (articles) are in French, but certain aspects like the search module and results page, the Read-more feature, the breadcrumbs etc... are in English.

How should I proceed here? Do French search modules exist for instance? Or do I need a French based template? I am using Beez2 from Joomla at the moment.

When I search for information there is a lot of links to Joomla translators, but I don't think this is what I need as I don't need to translate the actual content. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks so much for your help.

I know the answer to your question. There are a few tricks to getting multi lingual setup in your site. Very rewarding if done properly, extremely time consuming if not. It's easier if we talk about it over the phone.
