Post by om batta » Sat Dec 01, 2012 9:11 pm

Hello

I have a site with a dual content (Arabic and English)
The arabic articles don't appear RTL even if I chose the rtl icon from article manager > new articles > editor

Perhaps you changed your article language field and assigns it to special language.
you should check your articles and menu item language field.

Please do step by step this solution
1. Open index.php file of your default template, the add blew code among the <head> tags
<?php if($this->direction == 'rtl') : ?>
<link href="<?php echo $this->baseurl ?>/templates/<?php echo $this->template; ?>/css/template_rtl.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<?php else: ?>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php echo $this->baseurl ?>/templates/<?php echo $this->template; ?>/css/template.css" type="text/css" />
<?php endif; ?>
2. Create a css file ( template_rtl.css ) in css folder of default template.
3. Copy all style from template.css to template_rtl.css.
4. Change all
4.1: padding-left and margin-left to padding-right and margin-right ;
4.2: direction:ltr to direction:rtl;
4.3: float:left to float:right;
and save template_rtl.css file and choose Arabic language from back-end then your site going to right to left from then on.

If you did it and nothing changed. You should check the Language manager on administrator panel. Extensions->Language Manager then choose site's tab and select your RTL language as default. (It happen when you select your language and click on star's icon).
