Template Fragments - different layouts for modules & comp.

1. Introduction

One template comes usally with one single layout, but what happens if I want to assign a specific layout for one single module or component and for other elements different layouts?

2. Situation

Its possible to assign a class-prefix, but this could be not sufficent enought for every situation and it could be very hard to manage it, if the webpage is using serveral different layouts. The relation between the "prefix" value in the module config to the template is missing!

3. Solutions

One template can contain a set of template fragment like "box", "highlightedbox", "warningbox", "newsbox", "menubox" and many more.

There is always a "default" template, which represents the current Joomla handling and is provided by the Joomla Framework.

The assignment of layouts to components and modules can be done over the Template Administration. This ensures, that each template allows there own configuration.

It`s should be also possible to define the template fragment explicit by using a parameter "subTemplate=xxx"

4. Result

The template issues are more centralized and not spreaded outside of the Template Administration. The template designer as more powerful options to take influence to the output
