W3C Valid code

Post by fastforward73 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:18 pm

Well, I think that the possibility to make a website with a valid W3C code may be one giant leap for Joomla!

Thanks,

Joomla does this already.
god doesn't play dice with the universe. not after that drunken night with the devil where he lost classical mechanics in a game of craps.

Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves.

Maybe he meant valid code without tables.

This is already perfectly possible, maybe take a look at BEEZ or ja-purity template and you will see what I mean.

right, but if the tables were entirely removed from core output in the first place, that would be nice.

Agree, care to help out refactoring those parts?

I would if I could! Which I can't, if it's more than a matter of replacing table tags with divs.

Evidently a lot of people have hacked out the tables from Joomla in the past...

If anyone has actually whipped Joomla into 100% pure semantically valid xhtml, includes, extensions, and all, it must be a8ejoomla, which appears to be moribund:

Too bad--it would be nice to get this together for 1.5, and better if it could be absorbed by the Joomla core team.

An indicator of standards compliance and proper use of MVC for extensions in the JED might also be a good incentive/reward for developers.
