US-based International site for young men...

Post by timindaburgh » Wed Sep 16, 2009 6:06 pm

Our web team has recently upgraded our site to one using Joomla 1.5.

The YSI staff might like to add a social networking plugin so that the internal database on the site might be maintained by YSI members and not by the staff alone.

I would like to get feedback on:
  1. Which social networking plugin might be the easiest to incorporate
  2. If the photo album plugin is attractive and easy to navigate or not (other suggestions?)
  3. Any suggestions about graphics, fonts or template chosen to present content
  4. Or anything that makes navigation cumbersome on the site
Thanks in advance for visiting the YSI site.

I liked the way your site is presenting the materials.
(4) I suggest adding a 'site map' for your website. Check the 'site maps' section over the extension portal.

Thanks for the advice. I've incorporated both suggestions so far.

I like how simple you made it and very nice use of the standard termplate as well. What album component are you using? I like it.

Just checked it out quickly and found out that the site scales smaller than 1070px width, but your slideshow on the front page doesn't. So either set a minimum width or give it a fixed width. When I first entered the site I was wondering why your slideshow was off the right side of the screen.

Didn't check beyond that yet, though.

All the best,
Quicksly

Album component is: Expose 4.
I have fixed the width of the site and now the flash images on the home page should always be within the bounds no matter which browser is used to view the YSI.ORG. If you find otherwise, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I am now using the JA_Purity template. I do hope that it looks fine in all browsers. I welcome your suggestions.
