Is localhost the correct database host ?

Does the database exist ?

Does the database user exist ?

Is the password correct for that database user ?

Does the database user have the correct rights ?

You need to contact the Host ... oops just looked, WebMatrix is for windows OS on a PC.

Perhaps you need to start some services to connect to the database ?

xampp may be easier for a PC?

I had the same issue - the answer is to use the same password for the Database Administrator Password as the one you used before when the WebMatrix installer installed MySQL.

Hope that helps - it took a while before I worked it out.
