500 internal server error

Hi, around a week ago i was getting a 404 directory not found error on all areas of the website (url.net, url.net/site/index.php & url/site/administrator/), that has now changed to a 500 internal server error, again this occurs on all parts of the site meaning i am unable to change anything within joomla. I can access the host but everything is fine on that end.

Joomla version 1.5.26

scrap this, the domain is back up and we are now getting a 'Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL'. Will check the other forums.
