Joomla 2.5 admin page not working

turning on SEO friendly URLs within the global configuration of Joomla 2.5 ,Have been locked out of the admin backed and I need to turn off SEO friendly URL's, I can access the admin page but when i insert my login credentials nothing happens,
Am in need of your help.

Does this problem happen before you turn on SEF URLs? And oh did you renamed htaccess.txt file, that is located on the root of Joomla installation?

yap i have renamed it;; the problem appeared when i turned on th SEF URLs

SEF URLs does not affect the back-end.

Do you have by any chance made a menu item with the alias "administrator"?

My administrator page doesn't open. It keeps on searching and finally a blank page is displayed. However, my website is working fine. Can any one help on this?
