mod_rewrite on Joomla

Post by cloudspacehost » Wed Jun 17, 2015 3:53 pm

Hello,

We have a client that has a joomla site that needs a few URL's shortened. I am having trouble with the mod_rewrite URL parameters.

----------

First URL that needs to be shortened:
http://www.foreclosure-homes.com/compon ... cean_Drive

New URL:
http://www.foreclosure-homes.com/proper ... cean_Drive

----------

Second URL that needs to be shortened:
http://www.foreclosure-homes.com/compon ... d-for-sale

New URL:
http://www.foreclosure-homes.com/111-co ... d-for-sale

----------

Is this possible with Mod_ReWrite? If so, how would I write these parameter?

You appear to be using joomla 1.5 which is now obsolete and susceptible to being hacked. I would suggest that you try and update to the latest version joomla 3.4.1 where there are several methods available to produce urls as you wish.

Totally agree, I've been hacked twice, and that was when I was using Joomla 1.5.
I think it is not a coincidence.

Mod. Note: Relocated the Topic from the J3.x Forum to the J1.5 Forum.

The bad urls comes from a not properly coded router.php in the component.
