Remove all keywords from all items [resolved]
Hello,
I've been using an automatic Add Keywords plugin, and i see there is a serious mess in articles keywords, and i kind of think it rather bad for SEO, considering the fact that Google isn't so much after keywords these days.
Is there a plugin or an SQL command that i could run to simply empty the keywords field for all article items?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Remove all keywords from all items
personaly i think the fact you are using an out of date and vulnerable version of joomla is more concerning than removing your keywords

Re: Remove all keywords from all items
Well, that being said, now i guess I'll happily get into few weeks of migration headache from 1.5xx to 3.xx, because i have nothing else better to do
Don't get me harsh, i understand you are an extremely advanced Joomla user, and your advice good, but also banal at same time.
I'm using Joomla since 2009, I'm no pro, but good enough to clearly realize what I'm doing
Peace

I'm not defending the forum moderators but ...
You are aware, of course, that J! 1.5 is vulnerable? You are aware, of course, that J! 1.5 is not supported? You are aware, of course, that continuing to use J! 1.5 (and third-party extensions that happen to be lying around the internet) is the risk that you take. You've discovered what a disaster it was to use an old, outdated and unsupported plugin. I understand that. If, however, you're seeking sympathy I can't give you that kind of reassurance that you'll find it.
In any event, it's not "weeks" of headaches you'll be facing. Consider the time you spend planning and executing your migration to J! 3.7 as time productively spent.
It shouldn't be too difficult to write an SQL query that selects all records from the J! 1.5 articles table and sets the keywords column to NULL.
Perhaps it's time to wake up and smell the roses (and I'm not trying to be cute or "banal".Azmandius wrote:I've been using an automatic Add Keywords plugin, and i see there is a serious mess in articles keywords, and i kind of think it rather bad for SEO, considering the fact that Google isn't so much after keywords these days.

Although this is off-topic, are you aware that the Joomla Protostar template is responsive? Returning to your question, yes, you could write your own SQL query—execute it with phpMyAdmin—to clear the contents of the keywords in your articles.

Actually i wasn't aware that Protostar is responsive, regardless, i don't really like it.
By the way i have successfully run and cleaned all keywords from articles, some time ago, this is a relatively old thread

Re: Remove all keywords from all items
Ok. So should we mark it as resolved (possibly why farhan258 responded because it wasnt ) and then you can concentrate on upgrading to j1.5.26 at least before you move to j3? For security reasons
